Since 2014 Laurent Peyrondet, mayor of Lacanau, want to develop the city through surfing and skiing. A real work has been started with national and international surfing players to build a lasting legacy and meet their expectations for the development of the discipline (WSL).
Lacanau is a candidate to host the surfing events at the Olympics 2024 in Paris. Thus the city has set up a partnership with Bordeaux Métropole to mutualise our resources (accommodation, transport, media hub etc...). This application is an application for territory that already brings together all the economic and institutional players in the Gironde and beyond.
